Blessed beyond measure!

As you know, Bailey's doctors & nurses & child life specialists are VERY dear to my heart! The Hospital has been beyond wonderful to ALL of us from the start. They've comforted us, educated us, hugged us, prayed with us, & they treat Bailey AND Hannah with a love & compassion that I honestly never expected. Even knowing all of this, I never dreamed a casual conversation with my friend Beth, the Child Life Coordinator, would end with one of the most generous gifts EVER! We were there one day & she asked if there was anything she could do for us & I jokingly said that we could use a new play set in the back yard for the girls because with us being at home 24/7 the girls needed some new entertainment. She said she would see what she could do...it turns out that The Dr. Frank Crim Compassion Fund, a part of The Hospital's Foundation has funds set aside to help children with cancer & they so very generously ordered us a fabulous wooden play set! Alex & I were beside ourselves with gratitude & the girls were amazed at this huge new adventure in the backyard!

The outpouring of love didn't end there though because after the boxes were delivered, it still needed to be assembled. It would've been impossible for Alex to put it together alone & even with the help of one person it would've taken a week to assemble, so he asked his friend Dan to help. Dan teaches Ag Science/Engineering Academy; he gathered a couple of his skilled friends & came over early one Friday morning. They had the majority built by late Friday evening, but he came back over Saturday morning to finish it up!

We are surrounded by TREMENDOUS people & we're forever grateful for this. The girls have had a blast this summer & having this play set in the back yard has made being homebound 100 x's easier. We don't feel like we're trapped here anymore, & we don't have to tell them "no" when they ask to go to the park, we can take them outside to play in our own park instead!

A MILLION THANKS to Beth Daniel, the Child Life Coordinator at the St Jude Clinic & Candy Burnett, the President of The Hospital Foundation for their help in getting this lined up for us & also to Dan Evans & his "crew" for taking time away from their own families to come help ours! Many many hugs & lots of love for you all!

Man, that's a lot of pieces!

Movin' right along!

The "build" pics are mostly taken through the blinds because I had the girls inside & they didn't know anything was going on because we wanted it to be a surprise reveal!

Alex periodically texted me pics "from the ground"!

Done for day #1!

Their expressions when they first saw it!

Bailey's sweet little piggies were wet from the grass & left cute prints on the steps :)
