Starting treatment

Tomorrow promises to be a busy day! We're meeting with Bailey's surgeon at 8 am for a follow up from the surgery that removed the neuroblastoma & also a pre-surgery consult for the installation of her port. Surgery is scheduled for 10 am & they'll be admitting us afterward so they can start her infusions while we're already in the hospital. The first round is done in two doses, they'll do the first infusion after surgery tomorrow afternoon/evening & the second Thursday around noon. If everything goes accordingly we should be discharged sometime Thursday night. She'll start the chemo next week & as soon as we can get the shots ordered from the speciality pharmacy (1-2 wks) we can start those. They'll put us back in the hospital for 23 hours for that because I'll have to learn how to give her the injections & wait long enough that they can watch me administer one myself - makes me queasy just thinking about it!
